Laura Linney was one of the best American actors in recent history. Her savacious and vulnerable performances has made her a household famous. Born to a well-known playwright father, but being raised by a single mother who made a living in the field of nursing, she was drawn to theatre when working with her father during the summer and eventually pursuing a degree in acting initially in Brown University and then at Juilliard School. Starting her acting career on the Broadway shortly after her graduation, she appeared on film in just two years, and then on television within a year. Since then, she's appeared in numerous film, TV and stage plays. There have been numerous awards in her long career. They include the four Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations.
